In his determination to combat crime and criminality towards keeping Lagos State and it’s residents safe , secured, State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has pledged to continue partnering with Crime Reporters to actualize the set goal.

The Commissioner of Police,   while re- assuring Journalists of his cooperation, re-stated his determination to always collaborate, especially with journalists covering the crime beat in effort to promote crime free society.

CP Alabi made the disclosure on Friday, May 3rd, 2022,  while interacting with the newly elected officers and members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) at Mike Okiro Press Centre, Ikeja Lagos.

While congratulating the new Executive Committee headed by Mr.  Lekan Onabulo, the Commissioner noted that experience had shown that enforcement of the law by the police and dissemination of relevant crime related information could not be possible without journalists.

He emphasized that any society that undermines the strategic position of journalists in information dissemination would be doing so at its own risk.

Re-affirming  his earlier pledge about five months ago when he assumed office as Lagos Police Commissioner, Alabi assured Crime Reporters that his administration would always carry them along as strategic partners in law enforcement and crime fighting.

Clarifying issues on the recent ban on commercial motor cycles in Lagos by the State Government, the police boss said as law enforcement agents, his Command has been complying with the directive of the government.

He enjoined the journalists to fully cooperate with the police.
