POLICE SAFER HIGHWAY OPERATION STOP AND SEARCH NAB MAN WITH AK 47 RIFLE, 9 LIVE AMMUNITION IN DELTA STATE

Delta State police Command has arrested a suspected gun runner during Operation Stop and search.
The suspect was nabbed while in possession of one AK47 Rifle and 9 Live ammunition.Â
According to the State Acting police Command Spokesman , DSP Bright Edafe, Operation Stop and search has been vital in helping the command in fighting crime in the state.Â
” Its part of the proactive policing that has been put in place by the Commissioner of police Delta state command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, which continue to help nip crime in the bud”, Edafe said.
In a statement released to the media, DSP Edafe stated that On the 23rd od August , 2021,  at about 7 am, Safer-Highway teams stationed between Delta/Edo boundary along Sapele Benin road while on stop and search duty intercepted a white colour Nissan Maxima Reg. No. JJJ 494 ES.                                           Â
Upon searching the vehicle , one AK47 rifle with breach No. 7165 with nine rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was recovered from the suspect identified  as 34 years old Davison Edehede of Ugbor road Ukpaka area of Warri was arrested.                                                             Â
Police said Investigation is ongoing.Â
In a related development , Operatives from Delta State command On the 23rd August, 2021, at about 7am, while acting on a credible information that a suspected cultist has been trailing one man (name withheld).
Delta state police command Raider operatives were detailed to investigate and unravel the person behind the threat.       Â
They went on an intelligence led investigation which led to the arrest of one Ifeanyi Ajudia at Ibusa area of the state.        Â
After search warrant was executed in the house and premise of the suspect,  one locally fabricated berretta pistol without magazine was recovered.Â
