Ohanaeze Southwest Congratulates Senator John Azunta Mbata and Newly Elected National Executives

Following his resounding and highly acceptable victory last Saturday, January 10th, 2025, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Southwest Zone, in their usual Characteristics of according unwavering support to its leadership, at the National cum World Wide Level, has  extended their heartfelt congratulations to Senator John Azunta Mbata, the Newly elected President – General ,PG of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide and all the newly elected National Executives .

In his Congratulatory message sighted by News Planet International, the South West Coordinator of the Apex Pan Igbo Socio-Cultural organization, High Chief Everest Ozonweke, stated that the elected Candidate’s victory ,”is a well-deserved testament to their dedication and commitment to the Igbo Nation”.

The highly elated soft spoken Coordinator noted that Senator Azunta Mbata’s election as the new President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, marks a significant milestone in their history. 

Describing the general feelings across the South West zone over the general election, Chief Ozonweke also said thus: “This momentous occasion is not just a transition in leadership; it heralds a new era brimming with hope, aspirations, and a strong commitment to the socio-economic and cultural revitalization of our people”.

While reflecting on the past achievement, the Igbo Leader said,”I am filled with pride and optimism. Senator Mbata’s selection embodies the collective resolve of the Igbo people, who have sought a leader capable of skillfully navigating the intricacies of our contemporary socio-political landscape while staying true to the values and traditions that shape our identity. His leadership represents a dedication not only to service but also to the dreams of millions who yearn for a united and resurgent Igbo Nation”.

Speaking on their New PG resume, Ozonweke stated that”Senator Mbata’s impressive track record speaks volumes about his capabilities. Renowned for his steadfast advocacy for the Ndi Igbo, he brings a wealth of experience from years of committed public service”. 

According to him, Mbata’s strategic vision for Ohanaeze Ndigbo prioritizes unity, economic empowerment, educational advancement, and cultural preservation.

Optimistically mirroring the future of the Organization, Ozonweke believes that under Senator Mbata’s leadership, Ndigbo  can look forward to initiatives that capitalize on the strengths of their diaspora, nurture talent within their communities, and promote the industrious spirit that has long defined the Igbo people.

On the vexed issue of a united strong Igbo Voice, Chief  Ozonweke was philosophical and beaming with great optimism, he said, “this moment is particularly significant, as the necessity for a united and formidable Igbo voice has never been more urgent. The challenges we face, both domestically and internationally, demand assertive leadership that can effectively advocate for our interests and aspirations”.
