President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State and Prominent  Igbo Apex leader , Lord Mayor, Ambassador. Dr. Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has urged Nigerian Citizens to accord President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the needed support to enable him revamp the ailing economy.

This is even as he enjoined Ndigbo in Lagos state and beyond to distance themselves from the ongoing propaganda by those he described as “some faceless disgruntled elements”, who he accused are planning to cripple the social – political and economic activities of the country through Nationwide protest.

Ambassador Aguene, specifically  called on Ndigbo resident in Lagos state, to give Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu their unalloyed support to help him move Lagos forward .

In an interview with the News Planet International yesterday, Mayor Aguene, revealed and alerted Nigerians that some faceless Organizers are impersonating Igbo peoples names to deceive the unwary public that Ndigbo are part of their sinister agenda protest.

While appreciating President Tinubu led Federal Government for appointing Some Igbos like Aguene’s brother, the Minister of works, Chief Dave Umahi and Chief of Naval Staff ,into his Administration, Mayor Aguene called for peace and unity amongst all ethnic groups in Lagos state”.

He said, “I urged the Igbos not to participate in the planned protest organized by faceless groups presently operating in  the Social media, because Igbos usually suffers more during such protest, as miscreants will hijack it to loot and destroy property belonging to Ndigbo “.

Chief Aguene ,spoke from the Ohanaeze Secretariat , located at James Robinson Street, Surulere area of Lagos, while countering the agitation for protests against  President  Tinubu’s administration over economic hardship in Nigeria.

As a United Nations Peace Ambassador, Chief Aguene, enjoined Citizens to stay clear of protest, considering that President Tinubu ‘s Government is barely one year in office, adding that ” Rome was not built in a day” , because the Economy had serious problems before he came to power, we should give him time to build the economy”.

According to him,”despite the fact that protest is part of the democratic process, this very planned protest will not yield the desired result at this critical time that President Tinubu is working tirelessly to revamp the economy”.

He said”some people parading themselves as Igbos and calling for the protest in Lagos , the members of the public should know they are not Igbos and should be disregarded “.

He assured the Lagos State Government and the party leaders in the State that Ndigbo will not participate in the protest and will continue to cooperate with them to maintain peace in the State, maintaining that “Ndigbo will not participate in such senseless protest in the State as i have directed the Ndigbo across the Local Councils in the State not to participate”.

While acknowledging the fact that  people are suffering due to the economic problems facing the country, Aguene argued that  “embarking on protest will not achieve the desired results because hoodlums will use the opportunity to destroy lives and property in the State”.

“I will further appeal to Ndigbo to continue supporting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration ,because he has demonstrated leadership qualities and showed that he loves Ndigbo”, he concluded.
