The Education Research Technology and Human Welfare Organisation (ERTHWO), in collaboration with Hensard University Nigeria, has completed an online international conference on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Multidisciplinary Research.

The two-day event (January 19-20) concluded yesterday, marking a watershed moment in the global debate about AI’s transformative power.

The event also drew top experts and academics from around the world, including Dr. Naima Umar, Director of ERTHWO, who organised the conference, which focused on the revolutionary applications of AI in a variety of fields.

Key topics of discussion included AI’s growing use in research methodologies and machine learning applications, as well as its potential to address critical challenges in environmental science, agriculture, education, climate change mitigation, and healthcare.

The conference featured an impressive lineup of honorary speakers who shared their various perspectives on the future of AI.

These included Prof Dileep Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of Hensard University; Prof. Monika Sethi, Vice Chancellor of Professor K.K. Modi University; Dr. A.R. Siddiqui, Professor and Former Head of Geography at Allahabad University; and Prof. Syed Ali Nawaz Zaidi, Deputy Proctor and Professor of Law at Aligarh Muslim University.

The conference aligned with the vision of Hensard University, which was founded to pursue academic, research, and entrepreneurial excellence, character formation, discipline, and commitment to service.

Hensard University, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing private universities, is located in Toru Orua, Sagbama, Bayelsa State. It bridges the gap between academic certifications, skill development, and practical industrial application of knowledge for societal development.

International speakers at the conference included Antonia Maria Lorenzo Lopez, CEO and R&D Director of BIOAZUL in Spain, and Dr. Shobhna, Professor and Head of Department at Om Sterling University in India.

“This conference highlighted the urgent need for interdisciplinary collaboration in harnessing the potential of AI,” Dr. Umar stated.

“The discussions highlighted AI’s enormous potential to solve complex global challenges and drive industry-wide innovation.”

The event’s success demonstrated the growing recognition of AI’s impact on global issues, as well as the importance of a coordinated, international approach to its responsible development and application.

The insights shared by leading experts are expected to have a significant impact on current research and development efforts in the field.

More information and conference presentations are expected to be made available online in the coming weeks.
