Delta State Police Command said it has arrested one Blessing Oghule found in possession of a fabricated beretta pistol with five rounds of live ammunition and illicit drugs during operation.
Blessing was said to have been arrested alongside with three other suspects namely, Nweke Abudi ‘female ’, Ebuka Paul and Sunday Inuse ‘Male ’.
The Media Manager of the Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to Our Correspondent
He alleged that the suspect, Oghule, was arrested alongside three other suspects during a raid on black spots at Abraka axis in Asaba.
“On 21/10/21 at about 1415hrs, the Command raider operatives in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, raided black spots at Abraka axis in Asaba.
During the raid, five suspected stolen phones, a bag containing substances suspected to be cocaine and Indian hemp were recovered from Oghule.
“One (1) English berreta pistol with five (5) live 9mm ammunition, five (5) suspected stolen phones, one hand bag containing weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, one (1) nylon bag containing substances suspected to be ice and ten (10) wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine were recovered from Blessing Oghule.” he added.
Edafe stated the Commissioner of Police has directed full investigation and possible arrest of other suspects and the matter will be charged before Court after the conclusion of investigation.
