Concerned and deeply worried over the plight  of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Eze Fredrick Nwajiaga’s continued detention by the Federal and Lagos State Government, the  Eze Ndigbo in Amuwo Odofin LGA, Eze Augustine Sunday Ojukwu, has passionately appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu to apply political process within their executive powers and approve the unconditional release of the two Igbo Sons now incarcerated.

News planet International reports that Eze Ojukwu, who had earlier Commiserated with the families of late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide, Engineer Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, Ahaejiagamba, and Senator Ifeanyi Uba, prayed that God Almighty will grant them and the entire Ndigbo , the Fortitude to bear the irreparable lost, made the appeal today while addressing Ndigbo resident in Amuwo Odofin LGA and Lagos state in general.

Eze Ojukwu while joining other prominent and illustrious Igbo leaders and many Nigerian dignitaries, including Senators, pleaded with President Tinubu, to approve the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, considering his reported depreciating health conditions.

In the same vein, the peace loving Eze Ojukwu ,appealed to the Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu ,to consider the robust relationship existing between him , Igbo leaders,  residents, and tamper justice with mercy by freeing his colleague, Eze Nwajiagu, who is currently facing trial following the alleged offending video which he made at the wake of the wonton destruction of Property belonging to some Igbo people in Lagos, during and after the last general elections in the country.

Coming on the heels of the ongoing apprehensions and heat the proposed August 2024 Protest is generating in the social media and the Nation at large,  Eze Amuwo Odofin, who is also a  Business mogul and Philanthropist , with business interests in Amuwo Odofin LGA and beyond, beckoned on all Igbo Traders in Amuwo Odofin LGA and Lagos state as a whole not to join the protest or even allow the threat of protest by the Organizers of the August 2024 #End Bad Governance Protest # in Lagos state, to intimidate, Derail or stop them from doing their businesses.

He however, disagreed with those calling Igbos to sit at home ,  urging traders to go to their normal businesses unperturbed by the threat of protest.

As a way of mitigating reoccurrence of current agitation, tension and apprehension, Eze Ojukwu  called for an immediate urgent National Dialogue to forestall  crisis and mayhem in the Country.

According to him,  “In view of past National experience over protest,  Igbo Traders, Business Owners and all Ndigbo in Lagos state, should  distance themselves from the proposed August Protest, in their own interest and in the interest of Country as a whole, they should be very vigilant and attend to their normal businesses”, he advised.

He said,  “I wish to advise the good Igbo Traders in Amuwo Odofin, all the Igbo people in Lagos state , that they should go on with their business and not to participate in the planned protest by some groups against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration, come August 1, 2024”.

” Iam saying this with much  sincerity of purpose , so as to avoid this protest being hijacked , we should be partners in development for the well being of Nigeria and Lagos state as a whole.

Continued He : “I still believe in dialogue as the best approach to national issues than protest, because relying on protest is an opportunity whereby miscreants  hijacks it and use it as an alternative to destroy same Igbo peoples wealth and  goods  ,as well as  government property . People should go on their business and be partners in progress, with time government will get it right”.

He assured the Lagos State Government and the party leaders in the State that Ndigbo will not participate in the protest and will continue to cooperate with them to maintain peace in the State.

Eze Ojukwu also urged Ndigbo to continue to support Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, the ruling party in the State and Federal Government.
