DOUBLE HONORS : As United Igbo Elders Council World Wide , Inducts Chisco Group Chairman ,Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, National Life Patron

A prophet is said to be without honor in his place, but for High Chief Dr Chidi Anyaegbu, the case is the reverse, as he is not only recognized and respected by his Igbo ethnic Nationality, but will on December 16, 2024, be decorated with two Honors, at the prestigious Eko hotel and Suites located in Victoria Island Lagos State.
Indeed , it is a double Celebration and well earned honors , as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer,CEO, Chisco Group, High Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, will be conferred with the first Ndigbo World Wide Mayor and the National Life Patron of the United Igbo Elders Council Worldwide (UNIEC).
Both events will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024. The prestigious recognition and induction will be followed by his investiture as Mayor Ndigbo.
The induction ceremony, scheduled to hold in Lagos State, is expected to attract notable dignitaries from across Nigeria.
The representatives of United Igbo Elders Council Worldwide delegation will also grace the occasion to honour Chief Anyaegbu as their life Patron. Highlights of the event will include the decoration of Chief Anyaegbu with the UNIEC Worldwide Medal and the presentation of a UNIEC Worldwide Certificate. This honor acknowledges his outstanding contributions to the development of Igboland, human capital advancement, and his advocacy for the Think-Home Philosophy through significant investments in the region.
The United Igbo Elders Council Worldwide is an offshoot of Alaigbo Achievers Legacy, a socio-cultural umbrella body comprising elder statesmen, major stakeholders, opinion leaders, and thought leaders within Nigeria and the Diaspora. This independent movement champions the restoration of Igbo identity, language, norms, values, traditions, and cultural heritage. It also promotes the regeneration of the Think-Home Investment and Development Philosophy.
The Council has seen growing interest in its membership, activities, and partnerships, thanks to the visionary leadership of its National President, His Lordship Hon. Justice Anthony I. Iguh, CON, Emeritus Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
ABOUT CHIEF CHIDI ANYAEGBU
Born on September 13, 1956, Chief Chidi Obed Anyaegbu hails from Amichi in Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State. As the eldest in a large family, he exhibited exceptional resourcefulness early in life. His journey began with innovative pursuits, including building his iconic Ụgbọ Nkụ Chidi (a wooden truck), which marked his entrepreneurial beginnings.
After completing his apprenticeship in motor spare parts trading, he launched his career with a settlement of ₦120, which he diligently grew into the Chisco Group—a conglomerate spanning transport, logistics, hospitality, energy, and real estate sectors. Today, the Chisco Group is a leading employer, with over 2,000 full-time staff across Nigeria.Despite his demanding business ventures, Chief Anyaegbu prioritized education, earning qualifications from the University of Lagos and attending numerous international management and logistics programs. He has been honored with several honorary degrees and awards, including from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and universities in the United States.
PHILANTHROPIC IMPACT
Chief Anyaegbu’s philanthropic initiatives have transformed lives across Nigeria. Through the Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu Foundation, he has awarded hundreds of scholarships to underprivileged students and built homes for the less privileged. His contributions include funding infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and electricity in rural communities, as well as establishing the School of Logistics and Transportation Management at Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a ₦100 million endowment.
His annual medical mission in Amichi draws expert doctors from around the globe to provide free healthcare services. Orphanages in Lagos and the Southeast also benefit from his unwavering generosity.
Chief Anyaegbu’s life is a testament to perseverance, innovation, and selflessness. Married to his beloved wife, Mrs. Julie Anyaegbu, since 1982, he continues to inspire others through his remarkable journey.
