Thè Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Salami Amidu Bolaji, has enjoined Security officers manning Entry points in the State, to redouble their efforts in ensuring total compliance to ban on inter -state movements. CP Salami, who kicked against lackadaisical behaviour by officers assigned on enforcement duties, also warned inter-State travellers not on essential duties to be wary of the consequences of their journeys.
According to him, aside disobedience and disregard to government directive on the ban on inter-State movement aimed at containing and curtailing the spread of COVID19 across the country, the travelers have also failed to see the danger inherent in their movement, as most highways are lonely, making it easier for criminals to rob and kidnap.
He queried, what gain is it that one is robbed or kidnapped when you could avoid it by heeding a simple word of safety. The Police Chief further advised Nigerians not to see this ban as a punishment, but to safe all from the imminent danger COVID19 portends.

Wondering how travelers beat border security to come into some States, he charged his men and officers at the various entry points into Ondo State to redouble their efforts to see that no Inter-State vehicle carrying passengers is seeing anywhere in Ondo State.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Tee – Leo Ikoro, CP Salami was quoted as saying that “he is in Ondo State to police the people with humility, adding that this can only be achievable if everyone becomes everyone’s policing agent.
