It is always right to give honor to whom honor is due.

The above statement indeed appears to be the motivating resolution of Awalasi Progressive Union, APU , lagos branch,as they gifted one of their most prominent Icons, respected Philantrophic leader,  Dim Ochiriozuo N’ Uga;  Bobaselu Of Ejigbo Land and Eze Ndigbo of Ejigbo LCDA, Eze Dr. Ambassador Alex Sunday Nwoye , with an award of excellence.

As a mark of reverence and appreciation of the immense contributions of Dim Ochiriozuo N’ Uga’s family,to the progress of Awalasi Progressive Union, his amiable wife,  Ugoeze ,Lolo Jecinta Nwoye ,( Osoradi),who was APU former Chair Lady,Womens Wings,also received meritorious honor.

The occasion was APU fund raising of four hundred million Naira, towards the building of their proposed Ultra Modern Civic Center In Lagos state.

Indeed, it was a thing of Joy as praises ,encomium poured like torrents before and after the plaques depicting the recognition ,was handed over to Eze Nwoye and his beautiful wife, as many of the rich and successful Uga Men and women, who Dim Ochiriozuo N’ Uga had helped in life, trooped to the podium to support and appreciate their Mentor.

To prove that it is good to be good,some of the great and successful Men of Oga, who had benefited from the large heart, benevolence and Philantrophic gestures of Dim Ochiriozuo N’ Uga, such as the rich, handsome , well traveled Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, popularly known as “Emma Russia “, acknowledged him as his Chairman , while others who spoke on the grounds of anonymity, said that Eze Nwoye, was instrumental to their success story.

News Planet International reports that Awalasi Village, a small but might village in Uga Community of Anambra State, had within an hour during the launching, raised a significant portion of the amount proposed for the building project.

The active Organizing Committee Chairman Mr. Ebere Ifemeje, alias “Onwa”, kicked off the event of the day immediately guests were ushered to the high table and the traditional breaking of kolanut was observed by the Master of Ceremony.

It was after the Fund raising had melted down, that the investiture of APU’s Board of trustees, patrons, Grand patrons and Award of Honors, began at the “The Triumphant Place” auditorium , Lagoon Estate,Amuwo Odofin , last Sunday, November 24th, 2024, where the respected Igbo leader cum Eze Ndigbo Ejigbo Local Government Area and popular  business mogul/Chairman of Aceland Royal Garden hotel/ Mecvilla Executive garden hotel ,Fondly called “Dim Ochiriozuo N’ Uga”, Eze Alex Sunday Nwoye, his wife Ugoeze Osoradi, received meritorious awards individually, for their magnanimity and contributions to humanity, especially APU, and Awalasi Village In Uga Community of Anambra State.

Eze Nwoye before the award had made his own individual contribution and that of his own immediate kindred donation towards the Civic Center building project.

In his acceptance speech, the soft spoken,highly respected Uga noble man, who is acknowledged to have trained and led foundations towards the success story of many successful Awalasi and Uga indigens, appreciated the Organizers , while thanking God for life, success and blessings over himself, family and community. 

As a Grand Patron of APU, he expressed joy over the gift of honor from APU to himself and Wife and appreciated them with some significant amount of money.

He expressed his joy ,support for the magnificent visionary proposed civic center and prayed for the success of the project ,as it would benefit posterity.

Remarkably, Ugoeze Osoradi, the ever smiling beautiful, elegant Wife of Eze Nwoye,was one of the most successful Women leader while she was in office as Chair lady.

The versatile chairman of the occasion, Chief Emmanuel Umenwa,( Emma Russia), had in his speech elugised the ability of APU members to achieve their goal, considering the enormous human resources and caliber of dignitaries from the community.

Earlier, the gentleman  Chairman of APU, Mr. Innocent  Nwafor, had welcomed the guests , noting that their presence reflected their shared commitments towards achieving the Union goals.

At the event,assorted foods and drinks were not in short supply, as guests had much to eat and drink, with music supplied by the three wise men.
