AUGUST 2024 PROTESTS : Eze Alex Nwoye Sues For Peace, Says Igbos Are Mourning Hence Can’t Participate,Pleads With Government To Address Citizens Demands

As the organizers of #End Bad Governance Protests # gears up to submit their demands to government come August 1,2024, a respected Igbo leader and Industrialist, Eze Dr.Alex Nwoye , has sued for peace, urging all parties to exercise restraint.
The reverred Elder Statesman, who is the Chairman of two notable hospitality and tourism centers in Ejigbo LCDA Lagos, such as Mecvilla Executive Gardens and Aceland Royal Gardens, is the Eze Ndigbo in Ejigbo .
Speaking yesterday on Ndigbo’s position in his jurisdiction , concerning the Proposed Protests, Eze Nwoye ,who exhibited rare wisdom in his response,reminded Ndigbo in Ejigbo LCDA and Lagos state in general ,that they are still mourning two illustrious Igbo Sons, in the persons of Engineer Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, Ahaejiagamba and Senator Ifeanyi Uba , hence should not be seen participating in the protests.
Eze Nwoye, who is the Bobaselu of Ejigbo land, while further lending his voice to the current burning national issues bothering on the ongoing tension and agitation for good governance, urged Citizens “to be patience with government , make wisdom their watchword and always seek to engage in constructive criticism and dialogue, instead of actions that would destroy the foundation and fabrics of the country”.
He acknowledge the fact that many people are suffering, facing untold hardships in the face of high cost of materials and living ,which he noted have gone up astronomically , but he enjoined Ndigbo in Lagos and Nigerians in general ,”to repose their confidence In God Almighty pray fervently and exercise hope,”.
Revealing the counter productiveness of the ongoing “Sit at Home” civil disobedience in the South – East , Eze Nwoye, warned Nigerians on the negative impact of long drawn protests to the economy of any Country.
He therefore cautioned would be protesters to avoid willful destruction of public and private property, which he argued ,would eventually affect them at last.
However , Eze Nwoye, advised government at all levels in the country,to cut down on their high over head cost in governance, regretting that inflation and the economic down turn affecting the Nation, have led to the abrupt closure of many private companies, as both the rich and the poor are groaning.
Proffering suggestion to government on how to dampen the high level agitation and tension in the country and shore up support for itself, Eze Nwoye advised the government to urgently implement policies that would truly alleviate the citizens suffering and at the same time increase safety and security.
One of such programs he suggested, is the unconditional freedom of the detained leader of the Proscribed Independent People Of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu .
According to him, “Releasing mazi Nnamdi Kalu at this period, as appealed by prominent Nigerian personalities, will equally reduce drastically insecurity in the South East and environ,” he advocated.
He Commiserated with the families of late Senator Ifeanyi Uba and Engineer Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear their lost.
He also called for peace and unity among the ethnic groups and posited that it is only when there is peace and unity, that Nigeria will surmount all economic and security challenges facing it.
