Immigration Boss , Jere, Says ‘No Sacred Cow In The Service’, As Agency Sacks 4,Demotes 14 Others Over Corruption.

The Comptroller – General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, Mr. Isah Jere, has declared that on issues pertaining corruption, there is no sacred cow.
This is coming on the heels of recent Purge by the Immigration management, where four personnel were said to have been dismissed and fourteen others got demoted for various offences for which they appeared before the Orderly Room Trial Committee of the Service.
In a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Tony Akuneme on Tuesday January 10,2023, the action was said to be part of the move of the Service to get rid of bad eggs and in furtherance of the Federal Government’s fight against corruption,
Akuneme, explained that Four other personnel were discharged and acquitted, 2 were redeployed to other locations, eleven were issued warning letters , one was compulsorily retired and eleven others are still awaiting trial.
According to him, “The Comptroller General Isah Jere has also assured the general public that there are no sacred cows in the service as all offenders shall be appropriately sanctioned”.
