Lagos Police Boss Presents His Two Months Score Card, Credits His Command With Arrest Of 104 Cultists, Recovers 27 Arms ,Arrest 60 Facing Murder Charges, Apprehend 62 Robbery Suspects

Barely two months after taking over the mantle of leadership as the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command , CP Abiodun Alabi , has presented his score card for Lagosians to assess.
Reeling out his achievements within the two months short period of his deployment, the Police Chief stated that a total number of 62 armed robbery suspects, 104 suspected Cultists and 60 murder suspects were apprehended by the command between the January 24th and 1st March 2022.
Speaking through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP AJISEBUTU ADEKUNLE, he disclosed that 16 armed robbery incidents were foiled with a total number of 27 arms, 83 ammunition and 10 other dangerous weapons recovered.
This is even as 15 vehicles stolen at different locations in the state mostly those removed from parks were recovered through painstaking and coordinated investigations carried out by crack detectives within the period in review.

Alabi ,who disclosed these at a Press briefing held at the Command’s headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, also paraded some of the suspects.
While giving credit to the unrelenting efforts of the Command in curbing the excesses of reckless drivers within the state, which he said led to the arrest of 19 drivers for driving against traffic.
Furthermore, 436 vehicles were contravened for plying BRT lanes, 316 motorcycles impounded for contravening restriction order.
For these successes, he attributed it to the proactive strategies and reinvigorated security architecture of the Command.
In addition, 50 armed robbery suspects and 98 suspected cultists were charged to court after diligent investigation, while others are currently under close watch.
Explaining, he stated that one of the suspects identified as Desmond Igana, 27, was arrested on 22nd February 2022 at Ikeja at about 2.00pm while going for a robbery operation by operatives of the Special Squad of the Command.
Desmond, was alleged to be the kingpin of a robbery gang responsible for breaking into homes in Sangotedo areas, Ibeju Lekki and robbing victims of their valuable property.
” Members of the gang, on 29/1/2022 at about 1.30am broke into the residence of a victim at the Sangotedo area of the State and dispossessed him of his gold jewellery, mobile phones and other valuable property.
The dare devil armed robbers also made away with the victim’s Lexus RX 350 SUV and a Toyota Camry Saloon car. The same gang also robbed another victim at gun point and carted away his Lexus RX330 SUV, Lexus 350 saloon car and other valuable items”.
