Tears and Curses reign supreme in Ajegunle area of Lagos, as unknown Rapist Defiles a mentally unstable 8- year- old – girl kept in the custody of a Nanny

This is even as the 63-year old nanny, Grace Momodu, landed herself in trouble after the 8-year old mentally challenged girl, kept in her care, was raped by an unknown person.
Our Correspondent reports that Momodu has been arrested by the Police over the incident.
It was learnt that the said dastardly act happened at Olayinka Street, Ajegunle area of Lagos, where Mrs. Momodu was employed as nanny to take care of the girl by her parents.
Police sources confirmed that Momodu was given an apartment to take of the victim with an undisclosed monthly salary but the girl parents were shocked when it was discovered that blood was drifting from her private part.
Further checks revealed that she was raped by an unidentified person when Mrs. Momodu was not around and defiled in the process.
Sympathetic and angry Residents were said to have assisted the parents of the victim in handing over the Nanny to the Police at Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation.
However , she was said not to be able to explain what happened to the girl .
Having been found culpable, she was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence and she pleaded not guilty before Court.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, pleaded with the Court for a date, arguing that since she pleaded not guilty, the Court should give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Ajibade, granted her bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum while she was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 7th September, 2021, for mention.
