In their first annual meeting 2025, which turned out to be a sort of colloquium, intellectual and cultural exposition, Igbo leaders in Diaspora, under the aegis of “The Association Of Eze Ndigbo Nauzoije ( Diaspora), yesterday ,after two days of brain storming on Cultural and current National issues, called on Nigerian President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to hearken to various and persistent appeals from well meaning Nigerians and employ political solution towards granting an unconditional release to the incarcerated Leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The Diaspora Ezes ,who vehemently kicked against recent outlawing of their hitherto Cultural Title by the South East Council Of Traditional Rulers, SECTR,came in from different States within Nigeria and outside the country.

They had for two days starting from February 20th to 21, 2025,converged at the popular Villa Park Hotel, Near 2nd Rainbow bus stop,Amuwo Odofin, lagos State , and resolved to maintain the use of Eze Ndigbo Title.
In their Communique read before news hunters by the Groups’ Secretary General, Eze Gregg Ezebuadi, during a Press Briefing yesterday, the Ezes in diaspora ,also Commended President Tinubu’s Security
and economic initiatives towards revamping the ailing economy.
They urged citizens to allow Tinubu’s government sometime to fix the country back to its feet by enduring the present day economic hardships.
Speaking on the legitimacy of their Association, the Communique clearly stated that the group is fully registered as CAC/IT/N0.21796 on September 12, 2006,with the Corporate Affairs Commission,CAC, under part C, having the objectives of maintaining peace, promote cultural and harmonious Co- existence with the host community amongst others.
Calling for increased palliative and cash Empowerment to the poor members of the public, the Ezes blamed the deadly hunger in the land on insecurity, especially in the North, which they believe is hampering food production in the country.

Confident that the senseless killings and compulsory Monday ‘SIT- AT -HOME ‘order in the South East will cease with the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Group further urged President Tinubu, to expedite action towards Kanu ‘s unconditional release.
The Communique which was signed by their newly inaugurated President General, Eze Sir Greg Ilochika ,Eze Ndigbo Ondo State; Secretary General,Eze JohnGreg Okey Ezebuadi; Deputy President,Eze Sir Uche Egenti; Publicity Secretary, Eze Ndigbo Ghana, Eze Ambassador Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu and Eze Ndigbo Kano, Eze Boniface Ibekwe, advised the Royal Fathers in the South East, who they said were “misdirected and misinformed “over the problematic name change,to unite, bring peace and not destroying the fragile peace, hence must stop heating up the polity with what they described as generated name of “Onyendu Ndigbo”. They insisted on Eze Ndigbo Titles,as enshrined in their constitution.
While making his own Contribution, the newly sworn in President General, emphasized “that all cultures are equal in terms of value hence appealed to Igbo leaders both at home and in the Diaspora,to come together to lift the honor and pride of place of the Ibo Nation, one step ahead”.
He suggested for a joint session between leadership across border lines to sheeth it’s sword for peace, progress, unity and cultural upliftment and protection to striver amongst the Ibos.
Addressing the vexed issue regarding the Purported Abolishment of Eze Title, one of the senior members of the Association’s Board of Trustee,BOT, and Eze Ndigbo in Ikeja,Lagos State, Eze Uche Dimgba, Popularly known as Okpetemba, lambasted the South East Royal Fathers for non consultation before going public with their ” ill conceived decisions”

Eze Dimgba who categorically stated that Eze Ndigbo in Diaspora, rejected such change of Title from Eze Ndigbo to Ndindu Ndigbo, described it as an aberration and distortion of Igbo linguistic dictum.
According to him, the recent outlawing of Eze Ndigbo Title was a solitary, unpopular and selfish distraction by a few persons, adding that over 90 percent of Royal Fathers in the South East are in the support of Diaspora Ezes.
While giving the Royal Fathers in the South East tutorial on the significance and importance of Ezeship Throne in Diaspora, Okpetemba ,noted that his group of Ezes are positively impacting on the lives of Igbo residents through selfless services and helping the Igbo Nation.
On the issue of Proliferation of Groups and abuse of office by some bad Ezes, Eze Dimgba argued that Proliferation is legitimately acceptable all over the world, adding that though bad eggs are everywhere, including within the ranks of the South East Council Of Traditional Rulers.
He however noted that those bringing shame to the Ezeship Throne are not part of their membership. He cited example with an alleged imposter residing in Festac Town , Lagos State, who is answering and bearing the titles of Imperial Majesty and “Gburugburu”, meaning Universal Eze.
Eze Ndigbo Ghana, Eze Ambassador Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu,on his own frowned over the senseless killings and persistent “SIT- AT- HOME” order, which he said has impacted negatively on the economy of the people of South East .He called for immediate cessation.

He gave clarification on the alleged xenophobic actions against Nigerians residing in Ghana, explaining that the issues have been resolved amicably, while blaming some lawless Nigerian residing in Ghana for some of the crisis. He added that Ghana remains the best destination country in world.
