Contrary to the rumoured Detention and imprisonment of the incumbent Chairman of the Agu Ironsi International Market Association Section of Ladipo International Market, Mushin , lagos State, Chief Chukwuma Onyebinanma, the Police authority in Abuja last Monday , November 18, 2024, has freed him of the said baseless and irresponsible allegations leveled against him and his Executive team by the opposition.

The immediate release of the Chairman was made possible after the Police IRT Squad, under the Force Criminal And Investigation Department,FCID, Abuja, were said to have x-rayed the veracity of the allegations  by Detractors and villain opponents, who it was gathered are  jealously bent on twisting the facts of the case, to tarnish Chief Onyebinanma’s image and integrity.

This is even as News Planet International ,reports that Chief Onyebinanma,  yesterday called on the traders and the general public to disregard all the information by the opposition as fabrication and mere tissues of lies.

He therefore urged all law abiding genuine members of the Market, to go about their legitimate Businesses while maintaining peace , law and order .

Putting the records straight, while narrating the Genesis of the crisis,Chief Onyebinanma, stated that he has never breached the market constitution which was handed to him during his inauguration ,but abided by the market rules and regulations in all his dealings as Chairman.

He revealed that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in IRT, DC. Sanusi and other Police departments the opponents petitioned, had frowned at the petition and cautioned that all parties should return to lagos State and resolve the issues ,as membership dues database for election voters card, is sacrosanct  qualification for genuine membership identification.

The Chairman further blamed  members of the opposition led by Kelechi Oputa, Emeka Ifeora , Chimezie Eke,Emeka Eze, Uchenna Eze, Casirmir Olasi, Izuchukwu Ikuba and their faceless sponsor ( Names Withheld), for generating the crisis and seeking for kangaroo means to truncate the now voided November 16, 2024 election, because according to him,the opposition were afraid of  imminent defeat at the polls, which was staring them in the face, considering that they lack self confidence and grass roots support in the market.

Determined to move the market forward, Chief Onyebinanma, warned opponents and oppositions against selfishness that is capable of throwing the market into further irredeemable crisis, which has great potential of  destroying the legacies of the pioneer founding fathers of the market and his present leadership achievements .

Narrating further, the Chairman denied all the frivolous allegations that he had planned to rig the now court annualed market election by appointing his cronies as members of the electoral committee, before the purported order of the Lagos State High Court presided by Justice A.M. Lawal, on 8th October, 2024, in the suit number ID/8580GCM/2024 ,filed by Kelechi Oputa, Emeka Ifeora and Chimezie Eke .

Stating the facts as they are, Chief Onyebinanma, however affirmed the earlier October 8,2024 Court ruling barring the conduct of the election, which elapsed on November 5,2924, but vehemently denied being served with the said 21 days extension of order barring election, issued by the Lagos State High Court, neither was he put on notice or served with the  court processes before the said order was issued.

Chief Onyebinanma ,who traders said enjoys over nighty percent support of the entire market membership, revealed that the purported crisis that erupted in the Market was artificial and arranged by the opposition ,with the aid of some thugs and external sponsor, with their plan to create panic in the market and stop the conduct of the election , which they knew would have ended in disgraceful defeat for the opponents.

The above assertion by the Chairman, Chief Onyebinanma, was confirmed by many traders who News Planet International interviewed, including the Vice chairman, Cajetan Anigbo and the electoral committee chairman,  Fatai Adefat.

According to some of the traders, like Chief Chima Eze,who spoke with our Correspondent, trouble started after the opposition afraid of losing the election, objected and refused to renew and pay their membership dues, which was agreed would be used as voting permit, during the Association’s periodic meeting from September to December 2023 and January to May 2024,

Another trader , Peter Okafor, also confirmed that security arrangements had earlier been made with  the State Commissioner of Police and the Command, with necessary logistics paid before the court ruling.

When our correspondent visited the market, everywhere was calm and peaceful,as traders were seen going about their businesses, even as many denied witnessing  violent attacks on the traders perceived as opponents or opposition by the Chairman.
