It was a cultural fiesta last week, a significant International festival of note in Badagry , precisely on Tuesday,October 22,2024, as the indigenous people of Badagry marked their annual Olokun World Festival.
The festival which has been an event of pride and cultural heritage of the people of Badagry, recognized in the world festival celebration calendar ,was attended by dignitaries cut across different strata of the society.
Besides the special guest of Honor,Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu, other notable Yoruba big wigs were at the Sultan Beach venue in Badagry.
The Igbo Community in lagos was also ably represented by Ndieze Udo group, who annually have been guest at the event.

Indeed, in the line up of the Yoruba Cultural big wigs and other dignitaries for the event were : The Royal Guest,Wheno Aholu Menu Toyi 1, the Akran of Badagry kingdom; Tegboosun 111, Olowunla of Owu- Kuta Kingdom, Oba Hammed Adekunle Oyelude Makama CON; The Chief Promoter, the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams; The Aholu, Dr. Senior Ogungbe Okoko, Arolagbade 2; Aholu Onyeka Adekonmi Ajose, the Aholu of Alapa of Apa Egun- Awori Kingdom; Oba Dr.Israel Adewale Okoye, the Onibereko of Ibereko Kingdom; Guest of Honor, Lagos state Commissioner of Home Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Olarewaju Layode and the Executive Chairman, Badagry Local Government amongst others.
