It was funfair extravaganza, what some guests aptly described as “Naira Rain” ,while others called it” baptism with gifts”, as Eze Ambassador Dr. Chika Nwokedi, in collaboration with ‘Igbo Buru Otu Association ‘, staged a two days birthday fiesta in Ijegun, Lagos State.

Indeed, Eze Nwokedi’s family , Club Members,dignitaries, friends and acquaintances , converged on August 3rd at the Association’s new auditorium located by Estate Junction, Ijegun, to honor a man whose personality seems difficult to capture in a sentence.

Despite the harsh economic situation and galloping inflation, it did not deter the Celebrant,as he proved that he was not yet done with celebration, hence not fully satisfied with the 3rd August bash with his Igbo Buru Otu Club and his birthday mates,  Okpoko 1 as fondly called, again hosted his VIP friends at his palatial Palace at same Ijegun area, on the 4th of August.

The memory of both parties will linger for long in the minds of all the guests, because besides assorted foods and drinks, the events were classy and remarkable and Naira rained heavily on the celebrants, even as Eze Nwokedi baptized his numerous guests,friends, acquaintances and Well-wishers with different gifts items ranging from raw food stuffs like Rice, Noddles, phone chargers, wrist watches and Polo shirts.

Another unique aspect of the dual birthday party , was the fact that Eze Nwokedi, who is the  Chairman of Council of Ndieze in Lagos State and  Renowned for his philanthrophy, was the Master of Ceremony of his own Celebration.

Infact it was a roll call of who is who , ‘de cream de la cream’ of the society, all trooped out to honor the cheerful giver, who is also Ezendigbo in Ijegun and Ijedodo in Lagos and Okpoko 1 of Obodoukwu in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State.

Sandwiched by his adorable and ever smiling wife, Ugoeze Tessy Chika Nwokedi, the birthday bash witnessed torrents of praises and prayers.

Some of  the dignitaries that graced the occasion,were, DPO Ejigbo , CSP Vera Ameh,top senior Police officers,  Ndieze Igbo, Seriki of Hausa , Baale of Ijadado, Eze Nwokedi’s Cabinet Chiefs led by Rev.Dr. Moses C.Okwuosa, the Shepherd of Refiner’s Fire Deliverance Chapel International Ministry, aka Arena Of Possibilities, Captains of Industries, top business men and Women  like CSO Ngene, who is a respected leader at the APT section of the Trade Fair Complex and some Yoruba leaders.

Speaking at the event, CSO Ngene, who also is a member of Eze Nwokedi Cabinet,praised Okpoko 1 for his service to humanity.

In his own speech during an interview with Journalists, Rev. Okwuosa, expressed his appreciation to Eze Nwokedi for all his good works to humanity, he prayed for more financial open doors and long life for the Celebrant.

Responding, Eze Nwokedi thanked  God for His mercies and blessing over his life and family , he  reiterated that he has dedicated his life to serve humanity.

Calling for unity amongst Nigerians, Okpoko 1 emphasized the need for Nigerians to be united and work together for the progress of all despite our differences and ethnic affiliations.

Other guests who spoke at the occasion,commended Eze Nwokedi for his generous nature and urged Nigerians to emulate his  worthy life of Giving .

It would be recalled that Eze Nwokedi had in many forums stated thus : “I love putting smile on people’s faces. I don’t discriminate, it cuts across the Muslims, Christians, Yorubas, Igbos and Hausas equally because we are all one and share the same blood”.

Appreciating all his guests and club members, Okpoko 1 ,who is a proud recipient of many awards and  recognition, both nationally and internationally, especially on his philanthropic gestures, is married with children.
